Maciej Dakowicz, Polish street photographer studied Computer science in Poland at the University of Glamorgan. After completing his PhD he quit his university job in favor of photography and travel. Dakowicz is best known for his series of photographs of Cardiff night-life titled Cardiff after Dark.
Dakowicz shared his experience while capturing street photos. He said it is difficult to take snap of natural photos. While he was watching a group of kids playing football in Tunisia he noticed that one boy was about to jump from the roof. He was awaited for that moment and captured at right time.
In Varanasi every morning local men practice yoga on the bank of ganges. Dakowicz took photos from different angles of local men doing yoga. While he was capturing from above unexpectedly bird appeared in the frame which added some humor to the scene.
In 2010 he was awarded as Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2010 at UK and National Geographic 2010 at Poland.
In March 2013 Maciej became a member of the in-public street photography collective. He is searching for pictures which raise questions not answering them. He is currently based in Mumbai.
