5 date ideas for taking your loved one in Paris

Paris is a beautiful city offering everything from scenic walks, history, culture, food, sport, theatre, shopping and… of course, an abundance of romance.

The dating game is tough though so whether you’re trying to win a new partner over or keep an existing relationship fresh remember not everyone is the same so give your plans some real thought and pick your activity wisely.

Here are five destinations, where you can go on date with your significant other in Paris.

1. Eiffel Tower

It might be an obvious choice given it’s pretty much the symbol of Paris but that doesn’t mean a trip up the Eiffel Tower is a bad idea. Show your date you’ve given it some thought though, book a slot just before the sun drops and you’ll be able to appreciate the view of the city in the light of day and the dark of night.

If it’s going well on the descent, why not cap the night off with a glass of wine at a nearby bar?

2. Boat trip in the Seine

Many people might opt for a drink or meal on a date but go one better and book a cruise on the River Seine; you’ll have a set time together with no distractions and the river is a great way to see some of the city sights. The price of a cruise starts at a very reasonable base, but you can pull out all the extras – wine, food, flowers – to wow your date if you wish.

If your concerned about getting stuck on the boat in an awkward situation then consider using the Batobus; you might lose a romance point but you’ll have various points where you can jump out – either to escape or to take your date on to another level.

3. Luxembourg Gardens

One of the most beautiful green oases inside Paris is the Jardin du Luxembourg. Created in 1612 by the widow of France’s king Henry IV, Marie de Medici, it hosts within the Luxembourg Palace.

With his well-groomed trees and flowers, plus gorgeous promenades, the gardens are a perfect place to go for a picnic with your loved one. Afterwards, can also go cycling or for a quick jog, if you want to release some calories!

4. Parc des Prices

This one won’t immediately strike many as a date but don’t be fooled, a trip to the Parc des Princes can be hugely romantic – for the right person.

Paris Saint Germain are one of the best teams in European football. What better way to get the pulse racing than watching pitch side, while stars like Kylian Mbappe and Neymar shine on the field. If you are an American into the NFL odds and ‘soccer’ seems boring to you, we would advise you to visit a Champions League match.

The atmosphere of these games is magic and unique, bringing European fans together. If your significant other is a sports fan, they will be thrilled with excitement.

5. The Champs Elysees

If for your significant other, shopping is the best getaway activity, you can’t find a better city than Paris. One of the best shopping strips anywhere in the world are the Champs Elysees avenue, so take an amble down until the Arc De Triomphe. You can window shop in the designer stores or, if you want to push the boat out, go inside and splash some cash.

If the browsing is going well then there are plenty of places nearby where you can grab a drink or food and watch the Parisienne life passing by.

There you have it, five ways you can treat your ‘mate’ to an incredible, and perhaps unusual, date.
